Teaching and Learning Online is an introductory course in which participants become online students for five weeks in an online course facilitated by one or more instructors. They gain insight into the challenges and demands of being a virtual student, as well as experiencing the enjoyment of learning in this environment. By identifying strategies for building an online or mixed mode learning community teacher-students come to see the range of learning options that support interaction, collaboration, and social presence.

Note: This is an online course. You will be invited to an Elluminater meeting at the beginning of the course to ensure that you can access the course and to have any of your questions answered by the facilitator. You will receive an email a few days before the course begins with the time and place of the meeting.

This summer offering of the course is shorter than the offerings during the year, but the workload and expectations are the same.
